Austin Kang is a high school student and mental health advocate focused on expanding awareness as well as supporting siblings of individuals with OCD. As the founder and executive director of Behind the Scenes — the first OCD support group solely focused on siblings in North America — he works to address the often-overlooked experiences of family members.
His advocacy has been featured by regional affiliates, and he has presented on sibling mental health at international and regional conferences. Austin's work is informed by his academic interests in anthropology and ethics, and by his lived experience navigating OCD within his own family.
In his free time, Austin volunteers for OCD events, researches the cross-section of mental health and anthropology, and spends time with his family and friends.
